Kim Ki-bum, known mononymously as Kibum (born August, 21, 1987) is a South Korean singer, rapper, an actor under Y Team Company. He was the Lead Rapper and Sub Vocalist of group Super Junior.As part of SM's strategy to not limit the group's activities while certain members focused on their individual careers, several sub-groups have been created since their debut. However, he was the only member not to be assigned to any sub-group. Therefore, he began to focus on his acting career. He appeared in several dramas and by 2009, he stopped appearing in any SUPER JUNIOR's promotional activities. He also did not feature in any of the songs of the group's third album, "Sorry, Sorry", fuelling the rumours of his departure.

Career[]

2004: Acting debut[]

On April 21, 2004, Kibum made his acting debut in the KBS drama April Kiss.

2005-2009: Super Junior[]

On November 6, 2005, he debuted as a member of the boy group SUPER JUNIOR on Inkigayo with their debut stage for "Twins (Knock Out)", the title track of their first studio album Super Junior 05. Since 2009, he had been on an indefinite hiatus from the group to pursue acting.

2015-Present: Departure from SM Entertainment, continued acting career, new agencies[]

On August 20, 2015, Kibum announced through his Instagram that he had departed from SM Entertainment on the 18th.[1]

On August 1, 2016, it was revealed that he had signed a contract with Y Team Company to continue his acting career.[2]

On June 25, 2018, he signed with Clover Company.[3]

On January 13, 2022, PA Entertainment announced that Kibum had signed an exclusive contract with them.[4] However on May 2, it was announced that he had departed from the agency.[5]
